Hackettstown Family Dental is excited to announce an open position for a Registered Dental Assistant. Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist dentists and dental hygienists during various treatment procedures, including but not limited to, crowns, fillings, extractions, impressions, temporaries, and root canals.
- Set up and breakdown of operatory post-treatment.
- Manage dental equipment: sterilize and disinfect instruments, set up instrument trays, prepare materials, and assist with dental procedures as necessary.
- Handle patient management duties, including but not limited to, greeting patients, clarifying treatment procedures, and managing patient records and follow-ups.
- Ensure that all practice policies, procedures, and safety standards are strictly adhered to.
- Provide patients with instructions for oral care post-surgery or other dental treatment procedures.
- Take, expose, and mount digital dental diagnostic x-rays.
- Maintain a clean and orderly dental office by implementing practices that comply with infection control policies of the dental office.
- Assist in the ordering and maintaining dental supplies and materials.
- Engage in patient education and promotion of routine dental health care products as appropriate.
- Perform administrative and office tasks such as maintaining records and scheduling appointments as required.
Requirements
- Current and active registration as a Dental Assistant in New Jersey.
- Minimum of an Associate's degree in Dental Assisting or a certificate from an accredited dental assisting program.
- Valid X-ray licensure for New Jersey.
- Current CPR certification.
- Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of dental instruments, sterilization methods, and infection control protocols.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in using electronic patient management software.
- Proven track record of maintaining professionalism and a calm demeanor in a busy practice setting.
- Bilingual abilities, particularly in Spanish, are considered highly advantageous.
