NHRMC Physician Group seeking a detail-oriented and empathetic Remote Medical Scheduler to manage patient appointments and clinical calendars. You will serve as the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a seamless and professional scheduling experience while maintaining strict confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Appointment Management: Coordinate, schedule, and reschedule patient appointments using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, Athenahealth, or similar).
Patient Communication: Answer high-volume inbound calls and handle inquiries via email or patient portals with professional telephone etiquette.
Data Verification: Verify patient demographics, insurance information, and pre-registration requirements to ensure accurate billing and chart readiness.
Coordination: Collaborate with healthcare providers to maximize schedule efficiency and minimize "no-show" gaps.
Reminders: Conduct outbound confirmation calls and explain necessary visit preparations (co-pays, documentation, or medication lists).
Requirements & Qualifications
Experience: 1 2 years of experience in medical scheduling, healthcare administration, or a high-volume customer service call center.
Technical Skills: Proficiency with EMR/EHR software and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to toggle between multiple screens and systems efficiently.
Compliance: Deep understanding of HIPAA regulations and a commitment to patient data privacy.
Environment: Must have a dedicated, quiet home office with high-speed internet and a secure connection for handling sensitive information.
Skills: Exceptional verbal communication, active listening, and the ability to remain calm in a fast-paced environment.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; Medical Terminology certification is a plus.
