  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 20 years of professional experience in software engineering leadership roles.
  • Experience in distributed systems architecture and building systems.
  • Experience building, supporting and leading organizations within an environment with many partners/stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience leading the design and operation of GenAI data collection and curation infrastructure, including the data collection and quality, curation, and delivering capability gains in frontier GenAI model performance.

About the job

As the Senior Engineering Director for the software engineering team called AI Data Infrastructure, you will be responsible for delivering critical AI Data infrastructure that supports collection and curation of data that goes into the development of Google’s world leading AI models and products.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $365,000-$505,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Lead a fast-paced technical organization responsible for delivering the leading data collection and curation platforms that power the development of Google’s AI products and models.
  • Own and set the AI Data Infrastructure strategic roadmap, execution and ongoing alignment with key partner teams, including Deepmind and Google Cloud.
  • Evolve the strategic direction for the organization as the set of challenges and opportunities for Google rapidly changes.
  • Be an integral part of the AI2/CBS Leadership team in evolving our data and ML strategy.
  • Develop and grow talent through effective mentoring, development, coaching, and inspiring with a strong focus on talent management and instilling a data-driven culture that thrives in a fast-paced environment.
