BTL Technologies is hiring an experienced Ultrasound Technologist and can accommodate travelers with earnings of $3,347 in weekly earnings. Weekly earnings includes a $1,344 non taxable travel stipend.
Pay period is bi monthly.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Ultrasound Technologists' care shall cover the range of Ultrasound services. Operating special equipment that uses high-frequency sound waves to record images of internal organs as would be provided in a state-of-the-art civilian medical treatment facility. Perform studies of the kidneys, adrenal glands, nodes and urinary bladder using real time gray scale techniques to perform examinations for detection of renal cysts and tumors, adrenal masses, lymph node enlargement, retro peritoneal hematomas, abscesses and abnormalities of the urinary bladder. Duties of the position include, but are not limited to:
• Independently perform standard examinations.
• Evaluates the nature of critical and emergency procedures, and rearranges patients scheduled to accommodate them.
• Maintains records and image files of patients examined. Cross-indexes interesting cases for teaching purposes
• Performs studies of the liver, gallbladder, pelvis, spleen, pancreas, abdominal aorta, using real time techniques to evaluate the structures for size, abnormal contour, cysts and various pathologic disorders.
• Performs Doppler examinations of the portal vein, IVC, scrotum and kidneys.
• Effectively uses Doppler to supplement the examinations of other organs when needed.
• Performs vascular studies of the extremities upper and lower (venous).
• Requires knowledge of image acquisition in Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS).
• Explain the ultrasound procedure to patients and answer any questions they may have.
• Maintain ultrasound equipment and sterilize the room in which the procedure takes place.
• Perform the ultrasound ensuring the transducer (probe) is capturing images of every angle/section that must be assessed.
• Evaluate the images for their quality, but also to interpret what was captured in the image.
• Present images and preliminary findings to physicians and the healthcare team.
• Maintain patient records and add medical notes related to the ultrasound procedure
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• Associate degree or certificate in a diagnostic radiologic technology program
• American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) certification.
• Two (2) years of general ultrasound experience doing radiology exams.
• Must have experience in general abdominal, renal, liver, pelvis, thyroid, scrotum, soft tissue examinations
• Must possess current BLS issued by the American Heart Association
• CMEs as required or requested by Memphis VAMC. Technologists(s) registered or certified by national/medical associations shall continue to meet the minimum standards for CME to remain current
• Ability to speak, understand, read and write English fluently
• ** Shifts may vary and on call may be required, based on unit needs
• Must be able to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
• A Real ID (Tennessee REAL ID or any other U.S. State) and/or unexpired U.S. Passport required to move through the credentialing process
TOTAL COMPENSATION:
• $45.00 Hourly Base Pay
• Additional $5.09 hourly supplement health insurance
• Travel Stipend for commute greater than 50 miles non-taxable per IRS rules:
o Lodging $123.00 per day (payable at number of calendar days in bi-monthly pay period)
o M&I (meals & incidentals) $69.00 per day (payable at number of calendar days in bi-monthly pay period)
• Travel Round Trip: Up to $200.00 each way for initial travel to Memphis and return to point of hire at the completion of employment (receipts or mileage required for reimbursement)
• Paid Time Off:
o Legal Holidays: as they fall
o Sick Time: earn 1 hour for every 30 hours worked
