CALL TO ACTION Join the First Pilot Cohort for Titan of Life
Voice Up is launching the first national pilot cohort for Titan of Life the powerful real-world leadership narrative by Melvin L. Burks, a community builder whose compassion, authenticity, and lived purpose have transformed countless families, schools, and neighborhoods through decades of public service.
This internship program invites:
• Students (high school, college, graduate-level)
• Educators and coaches
• Community leaders
• Future social workers, counselors, and human-service professionals
• Creatives, storytellers, and purpose-driven individuals
Pilot Cohort Participants Will:
• Read and apply Titan of Life as a leadership framework
• Participate in weekly Leadership Fireside reflection circles
• Test new curriculum modules for schools, families, and organizations
• Provide feedback on leadership model usability and impact
• Help build national storytelling initiatives featuring everyday titans
• Contribute to a broader movement of purpose-driven leadership

PROJECT OVERVIEW What the Titan of Life Initiative Actually Is
Titan of Life is more than a memoir. It is a community-rooted leadership ecosystem grounded in lived experience, purpose, and resilience. Melvin L. Burks’s work embodies the principle that real leadership begins with recognizing the humanity in others.
The initiative includes:
• A Real-Life Leadership Model based on compassion, purpose, humility, and service
• A Human-Centered Leadership Framework strengthening emotional intelligence, resilience, and interpersonal awareness
• Curriculum for Youth, Adults, and Organizations covering purpose, conflict transformation, service leadership, and identity
• A Storytelling Infrastructure encouraging participants to share their titan stories and highlight community heroes
• A Scalable National Movement fostering leadership that is grounded, compassionate, and purpose-driven

Internship Program 3 Pathways
INTERNSHIP PROGRAM Three Pathways to Participate
Interns will help expand the Titan of Life initiative into a national leadership and community wellness movement. They support curriculum creation, youth leadership workshops, community storytelling, pilot program evaluation, and leadership Fireside circles.
Three validated pathways mirror the Voice Up internship model:
1. ACADEMIC CREDIT INTERNSHIP
• Ideal for students in psychology, social work, human services, leadership studies, public health, education, or communication
• 8 12 hours/week, 3 6 months
• Faculty supervision required
• Roles: curriculum development, leadership workshop support, narrative research, pilot evaluation, community facilitation
2. VOLUNTEER INTERNSHIP
• Open to teens, college students, adults, and community advocates
• Flexible, project-based participation
• Roles: reading circles, storytelling outreach, youth engagement, curriculum testing, workshop logistics, outreach and partnership building
3. VOICE UNIVERSITY SUBSCRIPTION INTERNSHIP
• $60/month hybrid learning + creation pathway
• Includes Titan leadership modules, purpose-driven project assignments, and weekly mentorship sessions
• Opportunities for advancement into paid leadership and facilitation projects
