YOUTH MEDIA & PURPOSE PATHWAYS INTERNSHIP

PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The Youth Media & Purpose Pathways Internship prepares adolescents, high school students, college students, and young adults to become purpose-driven media creators and youth leaders. This internship blends identity development, storytelling, leadership, and emotional wellness, empowering youth to create content that strengthens communities and contributes to MTDMN’s national belonging movement.

PROGRAM GOALS
1. Develop media literacy and creative production skills.
2. Explore identity, belonging, and purpose.
3. Create culturally grounded youth-centered media.
4. Participate in national belonging and service initiatives.
5. Build leadership capacity rooted in empathy and connection.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Participate in Youth Story Labs and purpose-development workshops.
• Create short-form media content (video, audio, writing, mixed media).
• Conduct peer interviews using restorative listening practices.
• Support MTDMN youth programming such as Youth on Purpose.
• Engage in research on youth mental health, identity, and culture.
• Contribute to youth-focused community engagement projects.
• Develop a final multimedia project titled My Purpose Story.

LEARNING OUTCOMES
Interns will:
• Understand identity development and purpose exploration.
• Apply ethical and creative digital media practices.
• Strengthen leadership and communication skills.
• Facilitate youth-centered storytelling conversations.
• Produce media aligned with MTDMN’s mission.
• Contribute to positive youth culture and peer connection..
