Job # : 26-00104 Job Title : Pharmacist In Charge (Retail Pharmacy Manager) Job Location : Philadelphia, PA 19143 Position Type : Direct Placement Job Description : Work Hours: Monday-Friday - normally between 9:00AM-5:00PM (Closed Weekends and most Federal Holidays) Role Overview: The Pharmacy Manager serves as the Pharmacist in Charge (PIC), responsible for the clinical, operational, and financial success of the pharmacy. This role acts as a primary liaison between the pharmacy and health center clients, integrating directly with patient care teams and clinic providers to ensure the highest standards of medication therapy management. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Oversee all pharmacy operations, including patient safety, professional practice standards, and regulatory compliance. Lead, motivate, and develop pharmacy staff, including pharmacists and technicians, by identifying strengths and addressing knowledge gaps through training. Engage with clinic providers and clinical staff to provide drug-related education and participate in clinical meetings. Manage the full pharmacy lifecycle, including inventory, financial profitability, loss prevention, and efficient workflow management. Provide direct patient support and education on medications, specifically focusing on chronic and specialty conditions. Ensure strict adherence to HIPAA, Fraud Waste and Abuse (FWA) credentialing, and all federal, state, and local pharmacy laws. Foster a team culture centered on compassion, enthusiasm, and high-quality patient care. Implement strategic growth plans to expand the pharmacy's presence and impact within the patient population. Technical & Functional Skills: Pharmacy Operations: Expertise in workflow management, inventory control, and financial oversight. Clinical Integration: Ability to provide drug education and participate effectively in a multidisciplinary patient care team. Compliance: Advanced knowledge of HIPAA, FWA, and state/federal pharmacy regulations. 340B Knowledge: Understanding of the 340B drug pricing program (preferred). Immunization: Proficiency in vaccine administration and current immunization certification (preferred). Language: Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (preferred). Behavioral Skills: Leadership: Ability to inspire and develop a diverse team while facilitating a positive workplace culture. Communication: Exceptional oral and written communication skills for engaging with clinical providers and patients. Patient-Centricity: A compassionate approach to patient satisfaction and quality of care. Problem-Solving: Strong organizational skills to manage personnel, client relationships, and facility policies simultaneously. Education & Experience Requirements: Education: Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or PharmD from an accredited university is required. Licensure: Active and clear Pharmacist license in the state of Pennsylvania is required. Experience: Minimum of 3 5 years of retail pharmacy management experience.
