Litigation Legal Assistant (Entry-Level)

Litigation Legal Assistant Personal Injury & Labor and Employment § Practice Area: Personal Injury, Labor & Employment Law § Location: Brooklyn, NY § Salary: $50,000 to $65,000 Annually (Plus comprehensive benefits and discretionary year-end bonus structure) About the Role: People Placers Staffing is seeking a skilled Litigation Legal Assistant to support a busy practice focused on Personal Injury and Labor & Employment matters. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience assisting attorneys in all phases of litigation, from intake through trial preparation. Responsibilities: - Assist attorneys with Personal Injury cases including auto accidents, slip and fall, premises liability, and workplace injury claims - Support Labor & Employment matters including wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, wage and hour disputes, and EEOC/NLRB filings - Draft and proofread legal correspondence, pleadings, motions, and discovery documents - Manage and organize client files, medical records, and case documentation - Coordinate with medical providers, experts, and court reporters - Calendar deadlines, hearings, depositions, and court appearances - File documents with state and federal courts, including e-filing - Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel Requirements: - Minimum 2+ years of litigation legal assistant or paralegal experience - Experience in Personal Injury and/or Labor & Employment law strongly preferred - Proficiency with legal case management software and MS Office Suite - Strong knowledge of court filing procedures and deadlines - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Ability to manage a high-volume caseload with accuracy and efficiency - Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred; paralegal certificate a plus
