We are in the GROWTH phase for our N Zone Sports Junior Program (ages 2-6) programming and are excited to announce that we are now accepting applications to fill the unique role of one of our PRE-SCHOOL Youth Sports Development Instructors.
This posting is for someone with PRE-SCHOOL - 5th Grade development experience, as we seek to join our multi-sports core curriculum with those who know how to develop very young minds, providing fun & engaging sports fundamental experiences in an effort to instill a love for athletics at early ages.
Job Description
The purpose of our Sports Instructors is to lead the athletic, cognitive and motor skill development of our enrolled children ages 2-6, utilizing our robust, high energy, sports programming now active and sparked for growth in the Central Florida area.
Our programming is designed to teach young kids the basics of a variety of sports including (but not limited to) soccer, t-ball, flag football, tennis, basketball, volleyball, golf, etc. We utilize our sports curriculum as the core of our teaching, while ensuring the progressive development of the kids motor and cognitive skills simultaneously. Fun and Fundamentals are the focus!
Our sessions are filled with FUN, ENERGY, HIGH FIVES, LAUGHTER, LEARNING & SKILL DEVELOPMENT.
These sessions range from 30min to 1hr depending on the age of that school's enrolled group. Instructors hired will be offered schools within their chosen available time-slots, with some schools having back-back programs, or multiple schools scheduled at different time slots within the same day. Each scheduled session will take about 1.5 hours total including setup/tear-down.
You will be be scheduled at the same schools each week which meet your schedule, to lead the athletic development of kids in various pre-schools or elementary schools around the area. You will be equipped with the gear and started with the curriculum you need to succeed while running these programs, which are always developing and progressing to keep things fresh for both the kids and our coaches. You will lead assistant coaches at each session and modify curriculum based on the play area allowed at each location to extract the most fun and develop the best result for the players at each school.
Your prior Teaching or Coaching experience will be utilized to assisting to streamline the age appropriate development of the kids, as well as ensure the kids remain engaged while having fun with each different sport.
The sessions will mainly include:
Pregame study of curriculum and planning for successful session
Traveling to the scheduled destination
Setup for that days emphasized programming
High level communication with the staff of the preschool
Energy fueled warm ups (Pep Rallies) designed to excite the kids
Designed drills emphasizing specific skills, and games to promote growth utilizing those newly learned skills.
Cleanup of recreation area and repacking of sports gear
Requirements (unless specified)
LOVE for teaching kids and EXCITEMENT to see them grow/learn
LEADERSHIP skills to be the MAIN VOICE to lead children during the sports sessions, and organize/implement the curriculum. You will also need to direct assistant coaches to maximize the flow of each session.
A work history with children aged 2-6 is NECESSARY/MANDATORY for true consideration (unless you have extensive coaching background)
Experience with sports is PREFERRED, but NOT necessary with a prior history working with children
OUTGOING PERSONALITY with great verbal communication skills
TRANSPORTATION is needed as you will need to have access for travel to and from scheduled schools
HIGH ENERGY (this is a MUST in this business)
Detail oriented and punctual
BACKGROUND CHECKS are MANDATORY and anyone with a LEVEL 2 background check done in the last 3 years will be placed at the TOP of the list for review!
