Assistant Project Manager - Division 7
Position Summary
The Division 7 Assistant Project Manager supports the Project Management team in
planning, coordinating, and executing commercial construction projects related to
insulation, waterproofing, firestopping, and spray foam systems. This role assists in
managing project documentation, schedules, subcontractors, materials, and communication
to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with contract
documents.
Key Responsibilities
Project Coordination
Assist Project Managers with day-to-day management of Division 7 construction
projects.
Review project plans, specifications, and contract documents.
Coordinate project startup activities including submittals, RFIs, and material
procurement.
Maintain project documentation and records.
Submittals & Documentation
Prepare and track submittals, RFIs, change orders, and closeout documentation.
Ensure all submittals meet project specifications and schedule requirements.
Maintain organized digital and physical project files.
Scheduling & Logistics
Assist in developing and maintaining project schedules and manpower plans.
Coordinate deliveries of insulation, waterproofing, firestop, and spray foam materials.
Work with field supervisors to ensure work is progressing according to schedule.
Cost Control
Assist with tracking project budgets, commitments, and cost reports.
Help review invoices, subcontractor pay applications, and material costs.
Support change order pricing and documentation.
Communication
Act as a liaison between project managers, field supervisors, general contractors,
suppliers, and subcontractors.
Attend project meetings and assist with meeting minutes and follow-up items.
Field Support
Visit job sites as needed to support field operations and verify project progress.
Assist in resolving field issues and coordinating solutions with the project team.
Closeout
Assist with project closeout including warranties, 0&M manuals, inspection
documentation, and final submittals.
Qualifications
1-3 years of construction experience preferred (internship or field experience
acceptable).
Experience with commercial construction or Division 7 scopes is a plus.
Skills
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to read construction drawings and specifications.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Experience with construction management software (Procore, Bluebeam, PlanGrid, or
similar) preferred.
Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
Physical Requirements
Ability to visit active construction sites.
Must comply with jobsite safety requirements.
