Childcare Substitute Before & After School - Frelinghuysen

Healthy Kids Programs is hiring staff for our Before and After School Program for the 2025-2026 school year. JOB STATUS: Part-time, non-exempt LOCATION: Frelinghuysen Elementary School in Newton, NJ POSITIONS AVAILABLE: Childcare Substitute PAY: $15.92 per hour HOURS: 7:00 - 8:30 am and 3:15 - 6:15 pm Featured Benefit: Employer-Paid Childcare Healthy Kids Programs provides childcare for school-age children (ages 5 12) enrolled in our program on the days and during the hours you work. Employer contributions cover the cost of care, so you can focus on your job while your child participates in a safe, structured, and engaging program, all without needing to arrange outside care. The Before and After-School Program team is responsible for: Facilitating interactive activities based on the Healthy Kids Curriculum, including fitness, STEAM, academics, art, and other group projects, along with providing homework support. Maintaining a safe, healthy, clean, and enjoyable environment while serving as a positive role model for children in the program. Arriving on time and ready to work, and remaining on-site until the last child departs the program. Communicating with parents and families daily through the Playground App. Following state regulations, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school guidelines. Some roles may also include management duties such as maintaining accurate attendance records, handling registration, and assisting with staffing. Requirements MINIUMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 18 years or older and hold a High School Diploma or equivalent. Preferably 1 year of experience working with kids under 13. Medically cleared of any communicable diseases including TB. Must be warm, friendly, and upbeat. Exceptional people skills, professional, reliable, and prompt. Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, carry (up to 50 lbs.), and do whatever it takes to keep up with the children.
