Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience with software development in C++ or Python.
  • Experience writing and debugging shell scripts for Linux/Unix environments.
  • Experience designing and implementing Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuos Deployment (CD) pipelines.
  • Experience optimizing and troubleshooting build processes for software systems.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience integrating AI/ML models (like Gemini) and designing Human-in-the-Loop (HITL) developer tools, emphasizing feedback loops and AI-assisted workflows.
  • Experience with API integrations.
  • Experience in build systems and build speed optimization using Bazel, Blaze, CMake, or Make.
  • Familiarity working alongside Embedded Systems, Firmware, or Kernel development teams.
  • Understanding of hardware/software co-design.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $174,000-$252,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Architect and maintain scalable CI/CD pipelines targeting custom Google silicon. Optimize build systems to reduce compilation times and improve the day-to-day velocity of the software engineering team.
  • Architect developer workflows and pipeline extensions from the ground up to leverage the Gemini API. Design robust HITL systems for automated triage, test selection, and code review that keep engineers in control while continuously learning from their feedback.
  • Manage the release engineering process for the gSoC software stack (firmware, kernel, userspace), ensuring high-quality, reproducible builds.
  • Mentor less-experienced engineers on CI/CD best practices, and collaborate closely with embedded, firmware, and kernel developers to integrate their code smoothly into automated pipelines.
  • Design and deploy comprehensive alerting, monitoring, and dashboarding infrastructure to track the health, performance, and reliability of the gSoC software stack and developer ecosystem.
