SUMMARY
The Accounting Assistant will be responsible for performing a wide range of clerical accounting duties and will be tasked with ensuring accuracy and consistency of transactions within the Accounting functions. Accounting Assistant’s role will focus on Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Internal Auditing, report generation and questionable data investigation.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, but not limited to. Other duties will be assigned as necessary to fulfill the optimum efficiency and effectiveness of this position:
Assisting and serving external customers and internal staff
Supports accounting operations by filing documents, running reports and various data entry functions
Maintain A/R integrity
Maintain A/P integrity
Issuing credits or assisting with other financial account adjustments, when necessary
Processing daily lock box transactions
Accurately/timely processing collections calls/letters, respond to customer inquiries
Assisting Controller with other assigned tasks
QUALIFICATIONS

ESSENTIAL JOB SKILLS/ABILITIES
Excellent listening & communication skills
At least three years of documented accounting or bookkeeping training and/or experience
Demonstrated aptitude working with Excel spreadsheets
Strong understanding of receivables/payables, along with debits/credits
Accurate typing and data entry skills
Good analytical & problem solving abilities
Effective time management & prioritization skills
Self-motivated and able to work with a team to complete necessary tasks in a timely manner
Requirements
Legally eligible to work in the United States.
Agree to and pass a pre-employment background and drug test and agree to ongoing random drug testing.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Comfortable working with computers, emailing and able to type at least 40 wpm.
