Front End Web Developer – ASP.NET

Job Description

Microchip is seeking a creative and disciplined Front End Web Developer to join our Global Marketing Communications team to support the presentation layer of the Company’s web site. This includes developing new technology related to new releases in addition to supporting major enhancements and changes to the website. Although this position requires front-end expertise with demonstrated experience in user interface best practices, this developer must also be able to articulate back-end support requests through our IS team.

The Front End Web Developer must be able to work independently as well as collaboratively with team members. As this position resides in the Marketing Communication team, the ideal candidate must have the creativity and judgment to translate vision into concepts and designs and be detail-orientated, confident and able to express ideas in an articulate, well thought out manner.

Skills & Responsibilities

Experience:

5+ years’ experience working with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, ASP.Net and MVC style coding

Experience in writing software in ASP, .NET, MVC, Ext JS, T-SQL, SQL Server and Web services

Enterprise level Content Management System experience

Experience building and maintaining large sites (50+ pages) and in driving change to improve development processes and standards

Must be proficient in Adobe CC

Ability to manage multiple projects, independently and effectively

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in design and development, degree in a related field, or related experience.

Knowledge:

Strong knowledge of asp, aspx, .net, web standards and usability

Client side user interface protocols such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery and AJAX

Responsive CSS Layout for browsers and mobile devices

XML/AJAX interactivity to access web services, and integrating associated RIA client objects (JQuery datagrids, data bound objects, flex..)

Experience in supporting and maintaining an enterprise class web site with automation, workflow and translation components

Knowledge of backend coding

Knowledge of Sitefinity a plus
