Job Description

Position Summary:
The Word Processor/ Production Operator is primarily responsible for editing legal documents. This position requires advanced to expert-level skills in Microsoft Office programs, particularly Microsoft Word.  Candidates must have the ability to perform tasks such as creating a Table of Contents, Formatting, Cross-References, Indexes, Field Codes, and tracking changes.  Intermediate skills with Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat are also required.  (Please do not apply without these skills.) 
 
Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for timely completion of documents and/or work requests
  • Create and edit documents, mail merges, charts, graphs, tables, etc.
  • Scan and clean up documents utilizing scanner equipment and software
  • Convert and clean documents from other software applications
  • Ensure proper workflow procedures are followed
  • Ensure highest customer service standards are met
  • Provide timely and accurate document processing support utilizing client standards and formats; maintain thorough knowledge of all firm-supported software packages in order to provide maximum support

Skills & Responsibilities

  • Ability to type 75 wpm
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of legal terminology preferred, not required
  • Transcription experience a plus
  • Prior document processing experience in a team environment
  • Ability to produce accurate work product
  • Flexibility to work overtime
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet pressing deadlines
